Story

In the beginnings of our Era, the Goddess Arua created the Seven Planets. These planets were all different in their nature, climate and inhabitants. The Love and imagination of Arua were responsible for these creations and as soon as the planets were created, the Sea of Souls, our universe, began to spring to life. Shining their light into the vast darkness, a darkness which was never to be back again. However, the god Hebarn, an envious God, grew more and more envious of the creations and love that Arua possessed. He therefore took the Seventh Planet, and claimed it as his. This planet is now called Hebarn, and is the source of darkness which is spreading throughout the universe of Arua.

Seven Planets
As said, seven planets were created by Arua. She named one of them after her love: Junon. Junon is the biggest planet in the Sea of Souls, followed by Hebarn and Luna. Junon is the planet with a native climate. Sandy beaches and widespread seas are in all the nations upon it. Deserts and tropical forests are also a known item on this planet.
Luna, an icy planet, exists mainly of snow. It isn't a big planet, as it only contains one city, but the travelers which dare to move among it, will have a hard time walking trough the ever-falling snow. Totally opposite to Luna is the planet Eldeon. A world in which the legends sleep, waiting to be awakened. Eldeon consist of mainly century-old forests and vast green oceans of grass. The Eldest Tree, a huge tree in the center of Eldeon, can be spotted from the planet Junon when a man uses a telescope.
Skaaj, whose name means Love, is a beautiful vacation resort. It's a reddish planet, with a tropical climate. Orlo, also named the 'Planet of Gold', exists - as the name says - out of pure gold. There isn't much information available about this planet, that’s because it's the planet which stands furthest away in the Sea of Souls. Opposite to the Golden character of Orlo, is the planet Karkia, A planet which is characterized by its wastelands, is the planet on which nobody ever dared to set a foot upon. It is because of the Flying Vessel that the Humans know of its existence, but they didn't dare to explore the planet, afraid of its gaping holes and toxic air. And then there is Hebarn. Nobody knows its name given to it by Arua, so the name of the planet has been Hebarn since the God Hebarn took gain of it. Hebarn is the source of darkness flooding trough the Sea of Souls. It's the home planet of the God Hebarn. It is said that the inhabitants have transformed to evil creatures, affected by the Devil Pest.

Gods
It has long been thought that the Gods were flawless and perfect beings. But in reality, the gods suffered from the same inadequacies and emotions as humans do. Like the inhabitants of our planets, the Gods laugh, cry, become angry and learn how to forgive. They fall in love, they become jealous, they feel pain, they feel happiness. It was because of the love and imagination of Arua that the Seven Planets were created, It was through the jealousy and anger of the God Hebarn that the light of these planets are threatened to be consumed in darkness.
The God Junon - after which the first planet was called - heard that his beloved Arua was in trouble and rushed towards her side to assist her in her `war` against Hebarn. It was Junon who created the Heroes.
These heroes are recognized as people who have accomplished great achievements.

Factions
Since humans have different ideas and ideals, social groups are formed. These groups are called Factions. Eventhough most factions can live with each other, a few factions don't like each others idea's. This is the cause that faction wars will commit. Visitors which like the ideas and ideals of a faction, can join one. A faction requires some offers from you, it can be possible that your faction wants you to collect materials for the next faction war, but you'll always get something in return!.

Transportation
There are three types of transportation in R.O.S.E Online: A Cart, which was invented to transport oneself from one place to another in a quite relaxed and fast way, a Castle Gear, which was invented to inflict as much damage as possible to the monsters now inhabiting the planets. Castle Gear, however, inflicted that much damage and became so destructive (also against humans), that it is believed that Castle Gear has been created by the Gods to punish the humans. Because of the widespread panic coming from this, the Factions - society groups, all with different interests and goals - agreed upon restrictions for the use of Castle Gear. Even the creators of this form of transportation believed that too much power would overwhelm every normal human, and would harm more than the benefits can handle. And then there is the flying vessel. This vessel has the ability to transport humans, wares and food supplies through the air. It has been created by the formally bitter rivals of the Factions and is the first vessel capable of flying. For the first time people were able to travel between the other planets. Ever since monsters started to spawn onto the first planet Junon, many adventures have decided to travel to other planets, to see if they can find a solution -and a cause- of the sudden appearance of these creatures.
